Psychoeducational Evaluations

Is your child having trouble learning, completing homework, getting along with friends?

Are you an adult concerned about your job performance? Does your spouse complain because you never follow through with things?

Our unique approach to psychological evaluations begins
with understanding the individual and the nature of the concerns.  A testing plan is developed, based on this information, leading to the
most accurate diagnoses.  This precise understanding enables us
to offer answers and effective, practical strategies for school,
home and workplace.

Our comprehensive evaluations
are designed to gain an accurate understanding of the problems and to yield practical solutions. Giftedness, ADHD and Aspergers, among others, have similar symptoms. This is why our evaluations are comprehensive.

We feel strongly that no child or adult is given any diagnosis and/or “label” without strong evidence to support it.

Whether this the first time you are seeking psychological testing, you’re requesting a re-evaluation of your child’s IEP, you want to insure accommodations in college, or you just want answers and solutions, you have come to the right place.

Step 1:

All of our psychological testing begins with a background interview to gather medical, developmental, educational, psychological, and family history, and a detailed description of the concerns. From there we determine the first battery of psychological measures we will use which usually includes an intellectual assessment, an achievement test, and a behavioral/emotional assessment. At this point, we may arrive at a diagnosis in which we feel confident, thus ending the evaluation.

Step 2:

If further clarification is necessary, we will chose one or more additional test measures that are designed to assess that particular issue in a more detailed and focused way. We are committed to determining accurate diagnoses. Why is this so important? Because all of the recommendations and interventions that follow will be based on this final assessment and/or diagnosis.

Step 3:

The evaluation is not over when the testing is done. Our psychologists spend many hours scoring, interpreting, analyzing and synthesizing the wealth of information gathered for the sessions. A thorough and informative psychological report is written by the psychologist. We do not use testing software generated reports. Our reports reflect the unique individual, as well as a detailed explanation of our findings and impressions.

Step 4:

Most importantly though, our reports include practical and useful recommendations for the classroom, home and workplace. If necessary, we will include referrals for tutoring, special services, and other resources that we have explored ourselves and believe will be helpful in addressing these particular issues. We never make referrals that we haven’t checked out first!

What does all of this cost?

  • The average psychological evaluation fee is $1550.
  • Our Psychological Evaluation usually costs between $1500 and $2000.
  • This fee is paid in installments at each session, usually 4 – 5 sessions over a two – three week period.
  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Paypal and cash.
