Psychology & Faith
An Integration
Why We Believe This Matters
We believe that the role of faith, prayer, and God’s power is vital to the psychological healing process.
Research supports the link between faith, prayer, and healing. Research has found that faith in a healing power outside of ourselves as well as the support of a religious community helps people maintain hope and persevere through things like grief, depression, trauma, and other serious issues.
An integration of sound psychological principles and faith is especially important when dealing with the following issues:
- Marriage difficulties
- Child and adolescent behavior problems
- Sexuality, chastity
- Sexual addiction/pornography
- Unplanned pregnancy
- Miscarriage
- Conflictual family relationships
- Emotions that seem out of control
Psychological theories and therapies everywhere are based on a particular world view from which assumptions are made about the nature of people, marriage and family life. These assumptions impact the services provided.
Through a compassionate relationship with our clients and as instruments of Christ’s healing love, each professional at Triangle Psychological Services strives to give individuals peace of mind, heart and soul.
Our services are grounded in a Christian understanding of the person, marriage, and family life, respect for the uniqueness and dignity of each individual and an awareness of each client’s conscience and freedom in making life decisions.
Additionally, all of our professionals have advanced degrees and expertise in psychology, counseling and social work, and are licensed through their North Carolina State Clinical Board.
